About Homestyle
The spotlight belongs
in the kitchen.
The best food in your town isn't in a restaurant. It's a batch of tamales in somebody's kitchen, a lasagne in a foil pan, cinnamon rolls cooling on a porch rail. The people making it have been selling the hard way — buried in marketplace listings between used couches, taking orders in comment threads, tallying them in a notes app at midnight.
We built Homestyle so those chefs get what they've always deserved: a storefront with their name on it, their license on display, their reviews earned from real pickups — and orders that take care of themselves.
The pledge
No fees. Not ever.
- No cut of a chef's sales. Every dollar of a $25 wing plate goes to the person who cooked it.
- No buyer fees. The price on the label is the price at the porch. You pay the chef directly — cash, Venmo, however they like.
- No listing fees. Opening a storefront costs nothing and always will.
How can we afford that? This is a neighborhood project, not a venture machine — it costs almost nothing to run, and we like it that way. If we ever charge for anything, it'll be optional pro tools for chefs who want them. The free storefront, and the no-cut promise, are permanent.
What we are (and aren't)
Homestyle takes orders, keeps the tally, prints the labels, and shows off the credentials. We never touch the food and we never touch the money — every sale is between you and your neighbor, under your state's cottage food rules. We're not a delivery app, not a ghost kitchen, and not a middleman. We're the order form on the fridge door.
